I hope everyone is all rested up after a fantastic Stevek Mogul Challenge weekend, and those Allegro athletes that had their first taste of competition, we hope you truly enjoyed it. I would like to thank the parents for volunteering their time, making the weekend's events the best anywhere.
This weekend looks to be very interesting, we will have Beeline open to all athletes on Saturday for some fun mogul skiing, Tyro Terrain park got a refresh this week. Sunday morning we are going to wake up to about 2 FEET of snow +/- 6" and its a POWDAH DAY! Monday looks to be EXTREMELY COLD and highs look to be around -10ºF If you are not prepared to ski on Monday, please stay inside, minutes of exposure can cause severe frostbite. Please be very careful with younger athletes. Those that wish to brave the elements, be prepared and coaches will be on the look out for Frostbite every run.
We have a new terrain park manager, Zach, who stopped by our office this week to share his exciting vision, taking Stratton Parks into a new chapter. His plans included a greater focus on safe progressions, being athlete focused, and creating fun venues that EVERYONE can have a GREAT time on. He tells us Old Smoothie will be refreshed in the coming week or two as well. Welcome back to the Stratton Team and we look forward to your creations!
I wanted to let everyone know that our club is hosting a Freestyle NorAm on February 2-3 and we are hosting athletes from around the world! If anyone would like a front row seat to the biggest skiing event Stratton is hosting this year, even just for a few hours of time, please volunteer here: https://www.timetosignup.com/smwsc/folder/1065 we thank you very much for your time and effort in doing so.
I hope everyone has a safe drive and bring your snorkels and powder straps!
