Hey A team,
Congratulations guys… We are completing a super successful year! The end of the season always brings mixed feelings…The happiness of winding down a very busy year and the sadness of missing our friends and the competition experiences. I guess all I can say is that for most of us our freestyle-cycle is year-round, we will be taking a breather for a few months before ramp camps and Mt Hood begin for some.
Before we talk about the coming weekend I would like to congratulate our skiers who qualified for US championships: Jamie, Maddie, Kaela, Blake and Patrick. Maddie and Kaela could not make it… But our other three skiers- killed it and we were super excited for just the opportunity to make and compete at our National championships at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire this past weekend!
Onto Lake Placid/Whiteface this weekend for the spring Bumps and Jumps competition. We will just be staffing the singles event on Saturday and then returning to Stratton for the Freedogger/End of year awards banquet as quickly as possible Saturday afternoon. Our End of Season Bash will be held in Black Bear Lodge's Green Mountain Room from 5:00-8:00pm. (VENUE HAS CHANGED!)
We will have Megan and Bogue at Whiteface Friday for training and comp. You can meet coaches in the base lodge at 10:30 training day.
On this Saturday- competition day you meet the coaches at 7:45 in the lodge.
So as I said lots of freestyle things rumbling through our heads right now and for the coming summer. We would love to have as many athletes from our A team join our preferred Summer camp partner, All Out Freestyle, at Mt Hood this summer for a very important and fun training camp. Tim and I feel it is super important that we follow through with our training regime that we have installed this winter with all of our A squad members . It’s important that we work on our carving/turns drills, strong entry and exit out of airs, and our speed/control. These will be the priority for our A-Team training at Hood. Many of you will also be working on upgrading your aerial and qualification needs.
Lake Placid has always been a great training facility and with All Out Freestyle being one of the few to be able to use the Olympic Training Center venue- we feel our training camps provide tremendous value that can't be found elsewhere. Everyone on the a team knows about this facility and we hope you check out our schedule and send in a deposit as soon as possible for we are nearing sellout capacity. Both mount hood registration and Lake Placid registration and information is available at AllOutFreestyle.com
So we look forward to seeing everybody this weekend whether it is LakePlacid or the end-of-the-year party at Stratton! I know I’ve had a fantastic time with all of you skiers and parents! I give a huge shout out to my two coaches Megan Moores and Adam Kohutnicki who have been there and done a fantastic job for our long season of events and comps.
We look forward to seeing everyone this summer and killing again it next winter!
